The NFL Alumni, in partnership with the California Transplant Donor Network, held the Bobb McKittrick Golf Classic on October 13, 2008, at Ruby Hill Country Club In Pleasanton.

Dave Fiore, former the 49ers offensive lineman, was the tournament chairman and was instrumental in bringing the NFL Alumni and the CTDN together for the first time.

Fiore spoke fondly of the memory of his outstanding coach, saying, “Bobb believed in me and gave me an opportunity to play when others didn’t. The lessons he taught his players were not limited to those learned on the football field. Bobb shared with his players great life lessons that we will keep with us forever.”

Steve Fratus, a liver transplant recipient, and Cathy Olmo from the California Transplant Donor network, worked tirelessly to promote and manage the tournament.
